The Role:

The work profile for this job includes overseeing daily operations at a construction or project site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and regulations. Act as a key point of contact between workers, contractors, and management, making sure the site runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise site contracts, including monitoring and assurance.
  • Adherence to the latest revisions of applicable employer's policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
  • Conducting safety risk assessments where high-risk plant is working.
  • Monitoring and reporting contractor working hours/manpower numbers, including sub-contractors and visitors on site, to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping practices are followed and maintained by all personnel on site.
  • Communicating and reporting to Site Manager/Project Manager/SHEQ Manager/Senior Advisors (Safety/Environment).
  • Completing daily SHE checklists and database forms to ensure compliance with SHE requirements.
  • Reporting all incidents to the Site Manager/Project Manager/SHEQ Manager.
  • Planning daily tasks according to the site program, contractor's schedule, and approved method statements.
  • Monitoring and reporting contractor progress in terms of the approved schedule.
  • Communicating approved method statements to all role players and ensuring work is done accordingly.
  • Being familiar with contract documents, drawings, schedules, specifications, and method statements to monitor and report all construction works in terms of quality, time, and cost.
  • Inspecting work done on site in accordance with specifications/instructions and re-measuring where required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Electrical/Mechanical/Civil National Technical Diploma (College/TVET College) with 7 years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering environment.
  • Or Electrical/Mechanical/Civil National Diploma with 3 years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering environment.
  • Or B-Tech/B-Eng./BSc in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil with 2 years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering environment.
  • Previous experience in site management.
