Job description

Responsible for controlling and ensuring the optimal operation of the site within specified parameters and legal requirements, by managing operational staff and liaising with contractors. Responsibilities include production, safety, budgets, audits, warehousing / distribution of products and raw material manning, supervision, and contract management. Maintains loss Control Policy for area of responsibility. Institutes corrective action where necessary.

• Budget Planning, Management and Reporting, proving efficiency and maximum leverage.

Experience

• 3 -5 years’ relevant experience within a Liquid Fertilizer Facility.
• Production experience will be beneficial.
• A strong mechanical aptitude would be beneficial.
• Strong experience of Supply Chain Management (including expediting, lead-time reduction, inventory management, packaging & shipping).

Duties

• Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the Site.
• Work closely with personnel to review site efficiency while monitoring consistently to determine trends and areas of improvement.
• Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quantity and quality.
• Control and optimize raw material deliveries, dispatch, and delivery of products.
• Collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to ensure all team members are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace.
• Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives.
• Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets.
• Participate in and prepare for audits ensuring compliance.
• Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
• Remove constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct employees to attain all established goals.
• Ensure plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with engineering standards, local and statutory legislation, ISO systems, and health & safety legislation.
• Develop and lead continuous improvement activities within the team.
• Address staff issues and concerns.
• Plan, develop, and train production staff.
• Interface extensively with marketing and client environments.
• Oversee warehousing and distribution of products.
