Job Overview

The purpose of the role of the Service Reliability Engineer is to focus on the delivery of technology services to internal and external customers. You will take a holistic and forward-looking view of all Huntswood services to minimize service impact.

Job Responsibilities

1. Identify and rectify shortcomings and weaknesses in:

• Windows
• Operating system deployment (AutoPilot) and application deployment (Intune)
• Frequently raised issues for agents
• Automation
• Use of PowerShell and/or Python for scripting
• Networking
• Capacity monitoring (using Site24x7 and Meraki)
• Responsiveness across multiple offices in two countries
• Regional requirements
• Address unique cultural, legal, and infrastructure needs of different locations
• Own the delivery of services for the offices
• Provide technical escalation support to the Service Desk
• Collaborate with other technology teams (DevOps, Development, SecOps, Business Apps) for expertise and improvements
• Occasionally work out of hours to avoid disruption
• Participate in an on-call rota

Job Requirements

• Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification
• Minimum 2 years in an IT support role in a large-scale operation, working with Windows/Servers and networking
• IT qualification is advantageous

Required Skills

• Proficiency diagnosing Windows server and workstation issues using event logs, performance monitors, etc.
• Experience managing Windows endpoints with Intune, deploying apps, and building systems with Autopilot
• Experience scripting with PowerShell or Python for automation
• Knowledge of enterprise networking devices, subnets, UDP/TCP, and HTTPS
• Ability to work reactively, prioritizing issues based on impact
• Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels
