Site Manager - Mossel Bay
Our client in the construction industry, based in Mossel Bay, is recruiting for a site/project manager. The ideal candidate MUST be hands-on and possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with project scheduling for new, renovation, and maintenance projects. The main focus will be on maintenance projects, with assistance on new and renovation builds.
- Manage staff comprehensively — including training, mentoring, scheduling, addressing staff issues, and managing disciplinary actions (verbal/written warnings).
- Allocate duties and set targets/objectives for staff on-site each day.
- Ensure all required products/materials/tools are available for staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Sourcing materials, obtaining quotes, and negotiating with suppliers for the best prices.
- Submit quotes to the administration department for procurement.
- Collect urgent materials/products as needed.
- Rotate staff between various projects to ensure targets are met.
- Liaise with owners, HOA, and tenants to maintain excellent relationships.
- Assist with quotations for additional work.
- Oversee end-of-day staff collection and review completed work and materials used.
- Supervise daily to ensure work standards uphold company reputation.
- Maintain stock levels in the yard through daily counts.
- Check site stock for profitability.
- Manage occupational health and safety requirements on-site.
- Assist with new call-outs, site inspections, and take notes/measurements.
- Prepare quotations for final approval.
Qualifications:
- Matric or technical matric.
- Technical qualification or extensive building knowledge (plumbing, tiling, electrical, waterproofing, painting, etc.) is advantageous.
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
- Traceable references.
