Description

FNB regularly upgrades and builds new retail representation points across our network in South Africa. The Site Management Team Leader is expected to oversee and manage various Site Construction Managers and Operations Managers within their respective Regions. Processes are adhered to at all times. They must also ensure that all contractors on site do not contravene FNB Design & Standard specifications. The Site Management Team Leader is expected to manage all direct reports (Site Construction Managers and Operations Managers), attend ad-hoc site meetings, particularly for Practical and Final handovers. The role requires maintaining good working relationships with internal departments, external vendors, and intervening on behalf of Site Construction Managers when needed.

Are you someone who can :

  • Run projects as required (adhering to Regional Infrastructure Roles and Responsibilities)
  • Manage staff to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Assist with resolution of issues (inter-departmental or external), liaise with Property Department, Vendor Management, Design Team, Space Planner, Engineers, Facilities, Technical Manager, and Landlords
  • Oversee instructions to vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with FNB standards
  • Ensure staff align with REMS strategies
  • Work closely with in-house Quantity Surveyors to review project Bill of Quantities, aiming to save costs while ensuring all foreseeable costs are included
  • Coordinate with in-house Architects regarding quality Working Drawings and Design
  • Manage the Bank’s Asset Register, facilitating the scrapping of obsolete items and transferring re-usable items to warehouses
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations on site, including PPE compliance, regular checks of contractors’ H&S files, and monitoring for on-site injuries
  • Address quality issues immediately with vendors via the Vendor Management team
  • Provide verbal and written authorization for VOs prior to work commencement
  • Sign off on all VO submissions
  • Attend and approve Practical and Final Completion certificates, minimizing snags at Practical Completion
  • Facilitate issues at Practical and Final completion stages
  • Manage snag completion percentages at handover
  • Approve staff travel, leave, tools of trade, and claims
  • Manage direct reports, including performance coaching and management
  • Coordinate pre-site meetings and other project-related activities
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and audit governance
  • Manage project costs effectively
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins and provide feedback
  • Submit weekly project progress reports and occupation certificates
  • Provide input on designs and standards to resolve onsite issues
  • Escalate unresolved critical issues to the Regional Infrastructure Team Leader

You will be an ideal candidate if you :

  • Hold an NQF level 5 diploma in Architecture, QS, Building, or Project Management
  • Have at least 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Understand working and engineering drawings and necessary calls for changes
  • Understand regulation requirements
  • Assist Vendor Management with negotiations for price reductions
  • Possess analytical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Have business awareness and compliance training
  • Think strategically and forward-looking
  • Maintain quality orientation and self-control
  • Network effectively with people
  • Have strong project management and time management skills
  • Implement solutions effectively
  • Be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Project
  • Have good process methodology knowledge
  • Be tactful and diplomatic with clients, yet fair and tough with stakeholders
  • Be energetic, dynamic, and innovative in improving operations processes
  • Have good management and people skills
