Your mission :

  2. Ensure compliance with engineering specs, industry standards, and regulations
  3. Foster seamless communication with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders

Site Management

  1. Oversee and manage construction activities at the site, ensuring adherence to project specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
  2. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with engineering and design requirements.
  3. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
  4. Supervise and manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  5. Manage Site Engineers & Foremen on multiple projects.
  6. Maintain productivity on site in line with the programme.
  7. Represent the company at project and technical meetings.
  8. Ensure monthly reports, QA documents, registers, and other documentation are up to date.

Technical

  1. Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, survey reports, and other technical documentation to guide the construction process.
  2. Report project updates, milestones, and potential risks to the project manager and key stakeholders.
  3. Provide technical guidance and expertise to resolve construction-related issues.
  4. Ensure understanding of construction details by Foremen.
  5. Draw up method statements for tasks on site.
  6. Conduct site inspections related to all trades in line with QA policy.
  7. Manage all foremen and staff on site.

Cost Control

  1. Plan and oversee allocation of resources, materials, and equipment to optimize project efficiency.
  2. Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and adhere to budget constraints.
  3. Place orders for approval by Site Agent / Contracts Manager.
  4. Manage breakages and materials stock.
  5. Maintain and issue variances/instructions to QS, ensuring timely submission.
  6. Handle capital expenditure and hire costs if required.

Reporting & Documentation

  1. Prepare fortnightly reports for review by Site Agent / PM / CM.
  2. Ensure adjustments to the programme are justified by delays or EOTs.
  3. Check weekly QA sheets and sign off on them.
  4. Draft IRS for review and updating by Site Agent or Contracts Manager.
  5. Submit EOTs, NOPDs, etc., under guidance of CM / PM / Site Agent.
  6. Manage change orders and quality control measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • 4-5 years of experience as a site engineer, civil engineer, or equivalent role.
  • Proficiency in managing and supervising construction projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Competence in assessing and interpreting survey reports and critical data.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Building Code, safety regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
  • Understanding of budgeting and cost control.
