PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Site Assistant plays a key supporting role in ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of the entire distribution centre. The incumbent will assist in executing daily cleaning, gardening, vehicle washing, and minor maintenance tasks, while also participating in operational meetings and adhering to safety protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Operations

• Receive daily instructions and cleaning equipment from the Site Controller.
• Clean and sanitize all working areas : offices, restrooms, common areas, and operational spaces using appropriate tools and chemicals.
• Perform scheduled washing of trucks and maintain the cleanliness of the wash bay.
• Carry out minor ad-hoc maintenance tasks and support in site preparation checks.
• Ensure safe handling and return of all cleaning and maintenance tools.

Groundskeeping and Gardening

• Maintain grounds and exterior spaces : lawn mowing, weeding, leaf blowing, and watering.
• Ensure the overall tidiness and visual appeal of the premises.

Support in Site Infrastructure Monitoring

Support in verifying :

• Generator fuel and functioning

Safety & Compliance

• Wear full PPE and comply with company safety standards at all times.
• Assist in conducting safety spot checks and hazard identification.
• Report unsafe conditions or incidents to the Site Controller.
• Engage in ongoing training, coaching, and team meetings.
• Support in cleaning register updates and ensure schedule adherence under Site Controllers direction.
