Job summary

A leading company in the construction sector is seeking a qualified Site Agent for a project starting mid-May and lasting approximately 10 months. The ideal candidate will have a BTech in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in site management. Key responsibilities include overseeing site operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining client relationships. This role offers an opportunity to engage deeply in project management within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Agent in a construction environment.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and application on site.

Responsibilities

  • Manage site, crew, time, resources, and materials within defined parameters.
  • Provide updates on costs, liaise with clients, and report weekly.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and health & safety regulations.

Job description

Start Date & Duration To start mid May for approximately 10 months

Duties :

  • Planning and execution
  • Read and understand the scope and duties on

site

  • Observe specific contract conditions
  • Provide updates to Contract Manager regarding allowables on site
  • Manage site, crew, time, resources, materials within defined parameters
  • Record additional work required by the client
  • Liaise and maintain client relationships
  • Report weekly on progress and costs
  • Attend Site meetings
  • Health and Safety
  • Ensure that all contractual medicals are done before the commencement of the project
  • Ensure that Induction has been completed where relevant
  • Promote health and safety and ensure compliance to OHSA Act
  • Provide feedback on weekly costs
  • Provide measurements and costing details to the Contract Manager
  • Ensure that all non-budgeted costs are properly identified, classified, well documented and variations are recorded
  • Policies and procedures
  • Ensure that crew adheres to all internal and external policies and procedures
  • QA / QC
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Plan
  • Maintain quality documentation
  • Meet Company standard requirements
  • Meet Contract Specific requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :

  • Grade 12
  • A minimum BTech (Civil Engineering) or similar
  • Fully proficient in MS Office

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • 5 Years’ experience as a Site Agent preferably with a Construction Company and experience in building works and mechanical installation.
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety
