Job description

The successful candidate will assist in risk product development and management, focusing on Life Insurance solution development within the organisation, with simplified underwriting models aimed at Middle Market customers. This largely entails reviewing and managing the existing simple life cover product suite, ensuring these risk products remain suitable for customers, and risks and commercials are managed. This includes providing support and oversight on pricing, operational, monitoring, and other supporting processes regarding the products.

He/she will be responsible for leading exciting new innovations and product developments, including all phases from research and analysis, creating business cases, designing the product, supporting approvals, and implementations including go-to-market strategies. The role includes the opportunity to interact with a wide range of key individuals across the organisation, enabling the execution of the Group's strategic objectives related to penetrating the risk product into the Middle Market customer segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate strategic simple solutions projects into structured execution plans and drive delivery, managing outputs of team members and stakeholders, supported by a manager.
  • Participate as a senior team member in developing new simple life solutions or enhancing existing solutions, including analyzing profitability and commercial contribution.
  • Leverage inputs from stakeholders to understand market trends, customer needs, regulatory requirements, and identify product opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain technical product artefacts such as specifications, customer communication materials, and marketing content.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure solutions are properly implemented.
  • Monitor and assess solution performance using management information and data to inform recommendations.
  • Support commercial and risk management within solutions, including assessing risks related to pricing, mortality, morbidity, lapses, operational, and market risks.
  • Incorporate risk mitigations through product design, pricing, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and other functional areas to ensure solutions are optimized and risks are managed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and standards, following governance procedures for approvals and sign-offs.
  • Prepare and present reports to governance or management forums.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and participate in cross-functional teams for strategic initiatives.
