Job summary

A luxury furnishings company in Rosebank is seeking a Showroom Consultant to promote high-end products. Job description

Position : Showroom Consultant - Luxury High End Finishings & Furnishings / Interior Design

Location : Rosebank - Johannesburg / South Africa

Salary : Negotiable

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Identify customer needs and promote products.
2. Provide product advice and maintain excellent product knowledge.
3. Meet sales targets and manage backorders.
4. Maintain client contact and invite them to view new ranges.
5. Set up and maintain showroom displays.
6. Ensure products are tagged and priced correctly.
7. Manage old, slow-moving, or damaged stock.
8. Complete opening and closing procedures as needed.
9. Manage outgoing samples and update sample books.
10. Place daily stock orders and check deliveries.
11. Report stock shortages and contact clients for order collection.
12. Sort, book in, and pack out additional products promptly.
13. Receive and check consignment deliveries.
14. File invoices and waybills accurately.
15. Ensure clients collect orders and process credits.
16. Conduct monthly stock takes of sample books and hangers.
17. Manage hanger samples and issue marked cuttings.
18. Maintain minimum book stock on the floor and manage the appro system.
19. Send invitations and monitor RSVPs.
20. Book venues and catering, hire equipment, and manage expenses.
21. Provide cuttings, samples, and appro’s as requested.
22. Address queries from sales consultants and their clients promptly.
23. Resolve payment queries and take COD payments.
24. Operate POS system and reconcile invoices daily.
25. Resolve account queries before processing sales.

Requirements :

1. National Senior Certificate; tertiary qualification advantageous.
2. Minimum 3 years in showroom sales; interior decor / design and retail experience advantageous.
3. Sales, customer service, product knowledge, negotiation, presentation, database management, POS systems, stock control, campaign implementation, branding, report writing, MS Office.
4. Fluent in English and one other SA language (area dependent).
