Job summary

IntelliStaff is seeking an experienced underwriter in Gauteng to perform underwriting duties in line with company policies. The role involves handling administration, documentation, and written communications while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Applicants must have at least 3 years of underwriting experience, FAIS Credits for personal lines, and RE5 certification. Fluency in Afrikaans and English, and knowledge of insurance systems, are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Underwrite in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
• Attend to administration and written communication.
• Ensure all documentation is processed accurately and correctly.
• Resolve queries as per company standards.
• Complete renewal reviews in a timely manner.
• Calculate client retentions.
• Process client claims according to SLAs.

Job description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Underwrite in accordance with standards, policies and procedures
• Attend to administration and written communication
• Ensure that all documentation is processed accurately & correctly
• Ensure queries are resolved as per company standards
• Ensure renewal reviews are completed timeously
• Ensure retentions are calculated
• Ensure client claims are done according to SLA’s

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Min 3 years Underwriting experience
• FAIS Credits (Personal lines)
• RE5 passed
• Strong knowledge of the principles and practices within a technical/professional discipline
• Very good knowledge of Policy wordings
• Registered as a representative with the FSB
• Knowledge of Insurance and outsourced systems would be advantageous
• Fluently speak, read, and write Afrikaans and English
