Shoprite is Hiring Pharmacy Sales Assistant

Purpose of the Job: Medirite Plus Somerset West seeks a customer-focused, hard-working pharmacy sales assistant to ensure the smooth operation of in-store retail operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Greeting customers and monitoring customer activity to prevent shoplifting.
2. Arranging visual displays and processing customer refunds.
3. Identifying customers' needs and suggesting products that will best meet those needs.
4. Handling payments and balancing sales and receipts according to company procedure.
5. Staying aware of new products and keeping product knowledge up to date.
6. Restocking items and organizing the sales floor according to standard operating procedures.
7. Regularly conducting price audits to identify and rectify price discrepancies.
8. Processing customer payments using the stores' Point of Sale (POS) system.
9. Maintaining product knowledge to offer advice and recommendations.
10. Staying up to date on all promotions and special offers.
11. Handling all customer queries timeously and escalating to higher management when necessary.

Experience:

Essential: At least 5 months of point of sale / till point experience within a retail environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Computer literate.
2. Bilingual, preferably fluent in Afrikaans and English.
3. Engaging and friendly personality.
4. Knowledgeable of payment procedures (e.g. cash, cheque, bank card, credit cards, coupons, vouchers).
5. Knowledgeable of stock-receiving procedures and merchandising standards.
6. Solid understanding of customer service principles.
7. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
