Shopfitter

Qualifit Design Construction is a growing construction and shopfitting company looking for experienced and skilled professionals to join our dynamic team.

We have four positions available for candidates with a passion for quality workmanship in cabinetry, kitchens, retail fit-outs, and bespoke interior installations.

Positions Available

1. 1 x Shopfitting Supervisor / Team Leader
   Minimum 5 years experience in shopfitting, cabinetry, and interior installations
   Strong project coordination and team leadership skills
   Proven ability to manage site operations, materials, and task scheduling
   Trade qualification or diploma in Carpentry / Joinery / Shopfitting from a recognised institute
   Experience overseeing installations from start to finish with quality control
2. 3 x Skilled Shopfitting Carpenters / Artisans
   Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in cabinetry and shopfitting
   Trade qualification or diploma in Carpentry / Joinery / Shopfitting from a recognised institute
   Ability to interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and installation layouts
   Skilled in handling and assembling MDF, melamine, veneer, Formica, chipboard, solid wood, etc.
   Familiarity with modular systems, drawer runners, hinges, fittings, and hardware installation
   Ability to work accurately with measuring tools, jigs, and templates
   Proficient in using woodworking machinery and power tools, including table saws, band saws, edge banders, routers, biscuit joiners, orbital sanders
   Experience with onsite fitting of kitchens, counters, built-in cupboards, vanities, wall cladding, display units, bulkheads, and feature walls

General Requirements for All Applicants

1. Traceable references from previous employers or projects
2. Valid South African ID or legal work status / permit
3. Ability to work from both workshop and on-site locations
4. Excellent finishing skills, with a keen eye for detail and neatness
5. Basic plumbing or electrical experience is a plus (e.g., fitting sinks, light boxes)
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Must be willing to work extended hours / overtime / weekends as needed
8. Must be physically fit, punctual, and dependable
9. Own transport and driver's license are strong advantages
10. Strong work ethic, professionalism, and customer-focused mindset
