Responsibilities

1. Provide guidance, supervision and set an example for the team
2. Develop and guide team members in selling techniques, product knowledge, operational standards, customer service and visual merchandising standards
3. Ensure store is staffed according to agreed staffing schedules based on business requirements
4. Create a welcoming, inspirational, and personalised experience for all customers
5. Drive sales and turnover by motivating and inspiring the team members to achieve sales targets
6. Ensure visual merchandising standards create a beautiful store experience
7. Maintain a clean, neat, and tidy and fully replenished sales floor
8. Ensure stock levels, stock losses and shrinkage are effectively managed
9. Ensure all products are correctly priced with relevant price stickers and/or signage
10. Ensure that stock take and cycle count variance reports are checked, variances are investigated, and stock shortages or unbalanced stock information is escalated to the Area Manager
11. Ensure that point of sale and banking procedures are adhered to and raise any areas of concern with the Area Manager
12. Ensure all store standards and operations policies and procedures are adhered to
13. Effective execution of all operational activities within the store

Requirements

1. A matric, grade 12 or equivalent certificate
2. A minimum of two years’ experience supervising a small team in a retail store
3. A passion for cosmetics, retail, and customer service
4. Knowledge of beauty and skincare products
5. Strong customer service orientation
6. A strong work ethic and hands-on attitude
7. Sound leadership skills
8. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs
9. Ability to schedule staff rota and manage attendance
10. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks
11. Basic proficiency with email and Excel
12. Good communication skills
13. Ability to remain calm and pleasant in pressurised situations
14. Ability to stand for long periods of time
15. Ability to demonstrate and promote products
16. Ability to create a buzz in your store that will motivate your team and encourage customers to come back and purchase more
