Job summary

HEINEKEN Beverages in Springs is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to oversee maintenance and TPM on high-speed production lines. You will lead a team, schedule preventative maintenance, drive OEE improvements, and ensure health and safety compliance across the site.

The role requires an apprenticeship or N3–N6 with a trade certificate in mechanical engineering, 3–5 years FMCG experience, and proven leadership, problem-solving, and shift-work flexibility.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years relevant FMCG experience.
• Apprenticeship/Trade certificate completed.
• Ability to work under pressure with good attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, innovative and able to work with limited supervision.
• Reflects good leadership behavior towards colleagues and company values.
• Willing to work shifts and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair site machinery and equipment.
• Adherence to planned and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Improve OEE on production lines and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Health and Safety supervision of machinery, equipment and working environment.
• Compliance with OHS Act.
• Provide an effective Engineering service to Production.
• Perform administrative tasks (job cards, quality check sheets).
• Lead and supervise people; participate in TPM empowerment of excellence.

Location: Springs

Function: Supply Chain

Sub Function: Manufacturing

Type of Contract: Permanent

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining machinery and equipment on the site per required to be standard.
• Maintaining and repairing site equipment.
• Adherence to Planned and Preventative maintenance schedules
• Improving OEE (overall equipment efficiency) on production lines.
• Reduce unplanned downtime.
• Health and Safety supervision of machinery, equipment and working environment.
• Compliance with OHS Act.
• Provide an effective Engineering service to the Production department.
• Perform administrative tasks (job cards, quality check sheets, etc.)
• Perform stand-in duties.
• Leading and supervising people
• Participating in TPM empowering excellence.

Skills

• N3-N6 equivalent with Trade Certificate - Fitter and / or Turner, Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in a high speed, high-tech bottling operation will be advantageous.
• Completed apprenticeship with recognized Institution i.e., was registered as an apprentice.
• 3-5 relevant working experience in the FMCG
• Ability to work under pressure and display good attention to detail.
• Proven ability in problem solving and knowledge of the various problem-solving methods.
• Must be self-motivated, innovative and able to work without or limited supervision.
• To reflect good leadership behavior - towards colleagues, superior and company values
• Must be willing and able to work shifts and overtime when required.
