Supervision / Management: Production Manager

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Control and monitor of the extrusion processes
2. Tool changes, feeder changes and raw material changes
3. Responsible for timeous, correct line set-ups and changeovers
4. Managing the production shift to ensure optimal efficiencies
5. Take full responsibility for process and product quality
6. Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to maintain a high level of mechanical performance
7. Analyse process and product deviations and perform trouble shooting and adjustments
8. High focus on OEE indicators (Availability, Performance, Quality)
9. Maintain team morale and discipline - control attendance and punctuality and keeping of records
10. Keep production area and facilities in a clean and organised condition
11. Responsible for shift safety and a good safety culture of the team
12. Drive Lean operational excellence activities such as 5S, set-ups, autonomous maintenance, root cause & corrective action, rapid problem solving, FIFO, tier meetings and skills development
13. Do maintenance work on shift as required and assist with general maintenance activities

Education and Experience

1. Necessary qualification: Minimum N3 artisan or equivalent
2. Necessary experience: 5+ years in manufacturing environment (extrusion experience advantageous), 2+ years in a position that supervised / managed a team

Additional requirements

1. Electronic fault-finding experience would be advantageous
2. Driver's license and own reliable transport
3. Must be able to work at heights (good health - medical requirement)

Employment offer

Working hours: 12-hour shifts: Two days 06h00-18h00, two days 18h00-06h00, four days off
