Tool changes, feeder changes and raw material changes
Responsible for timeous, correct line set-ups and changeovers
Managing the production shift to ensure optimal efficiencies
Take full responsibility for process and product quality
Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to maintain a high level of mechanical performance
Analyse process and product deviations and perform trouble shooting and adjustments
High focus on OEE indicators (Availability, Performance, Quality)
Maintain team morale and discipline - control attendance and punctuality and keeping of records
Keep production area and facilities in a clean and organised condition
Responsible for shift safety and a good safety culture of the team
Drive Lean operational excellence activities such as 5S, set-ups, autonomous maintenance, root cause & corrective action, rapid problem solving, FIFO, tier meetings and skills development
Do maintenance work on shift as required and assist with general maintenance activities
Qualifications:
Technical qualification
Minimum N3 artisan or equivalent
5+ years in manufacturing environment (extrusion experience advantageous)
2+ years in a position that supervised/managed a team
