Job description

Position Title: Shift Supervisor

Reports To: DSC Operations Manager

Grade: C2

Business Unit: CBRE Excellerate

CBRE Data Centre Overview

CBRE manages the maintenance of Data Centres and is committed to providing an efficient and effective critical engineering maintenance service. The primary goal is to ensure 100% uptime of engineering services, ensuring zero impact on the client’s business operations.

Role Overview

The Shift Supervisor performs repairs, installations, modifications, or machine servicing independently and reports back to the Supervisor upon completion.

Key Objectives
  1. Complete all maintenance procedures, regular checks, and routine inspections on equipment in collaboration with the maintenance team, with accurate updates and documentation.
  2. Provide service reports following all supplier visits to the site without exceptions.
  3. Ensure the continuous operation of the installed systems.
  4. Perform repairs and minor works related to installed services within the CBRE scope, adhering to best practices.
  5. Enhance service delivery through best practices and effective use of site systems and equipment.
  6. Ensure team members perform personal risk assessments for maintenance and repair activities.
  7. Manage stock levels during shifts, review spares requirements after reactive tasks, and report all orders immediately to the Site Operations Manager for approval and procurement.
  8. Ensure all self-performed work and contractor activities comply with CBRE and Data Centre health & safety procedures.
  9. Ensure all permits are signed on and out as per GMR 2.7.
  10. Manage the Supplier GRN process.
  11. Maintain the state of the plant rooms according to best practices.
  12. Maintain asset availability and service reliability during incidents, following established processes.
Candidate Background
  1. Relevant technical qualifications
  2. Supervisory training certificates
  3. Recognized apprenticeship
  4. Previous experience in a similar building environment or business
  5. MV switching qualification/experience
  6. Knowledge of permit-to-work systems
  7. Experience with safety documentation within Data Centres (preferred)
Role Requirements

The Data Centre operates 24/7; therefore, incumbents may need to respond to operational needs outside regular hours. The role requires working according to a shift roster, details of which will be communicated by management.
