Job description

Job Title : Shift Supervisor

Location : Durban South Africa

Industry : Chemicals

RPO Recruitments client in the chemicals industry are currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join their team in Durban and oversee daily operations in their facility.

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of production operators on a specific shift
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards
  • Train and mentor production operators on proper procedures and safety protocols
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes to minimize downtime and optimize production output
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and plant management teams to improve production processes
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports for management review
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, and compliance

Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of chemical production processes and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a chemical manufacturing setting
