Job description

What You Will Enjoy Doing

• Allocated a section of plant to maintain high equipment availability and housekeeping.
• Responsible for plant wide maintenance activities during shifts/shutdown/breakdown/etc.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards, and company policies.
• Manage section spares and usage, scoping of work, execution and reporting.
• Supervise/lead assistants and contractors.
• Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions.
• Systematic approach to trouble shooting and fault finding and formulate trouble shooting guide.
• Consult equipment manuals and ensure machines are always maintained in accordance with the prescribed procedures and works instructions.
• Drawing interpretation.
• Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
• Document all maintenance activities and repairs.
• Execute equipment fitting, installations, changes and repairs.
• Equipment includes (and not limited to) pumps, valves, gearboxes, motors, knives, screws, etc.
• Plants include (plastic) processing, blowing, conveying, producing, extruding and storage, utilities, water treatment, facilities, etc.
• Overhauling and repairs to equipment.
• Basic fabrication and rigging.
• Prepared to work shifts, overtime and standby.

• Fitting or Fitting and Turning Trade Certificate (Essential)
• Full N3 Mechanical Engineering
• Higher engineering qualification will be advantageous
• Matric Certificate
• At least 5 years' post apprenticeship experience
• At least 2 years' supervisory experience
• Experienced in the Manufacturing Industry
• Valid Code 08 (Code B) Driver's License
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
