What You Will Enjoy Doing
- Allocated a section of plant to maintain high equipment availability and housekeeping.
- Responsible for plant wide maintenance activities during shifts/shutdown/breakdown/etc.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards, and company policies.
- Manage section spares and usage, scoping of work, execution and reporting.
- Supervise/lead assistants and contractors.
- Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions.
- Systematic approach to trouble shooting and fault finding and formulate trouble shooting guide.
- Consult equipment manuals and ensure machines are always maintained in accordance with the prescribed procedures and works instructions.
- Drawing interpretation.
- Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Document all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Execute equipment fitting, installations, changes and repairs.
- Equipment includes (and not limited to) pumps, valves, gearboxes, motors, knives, screws, etc.
- Plants include (plastic) processing, blowing, conveying, producing, extruding and storage, utilities, water treatment, facilities, etc.
- Overhauling and repairs to equipment.
- Basic fabrication and rigging.
- Prepared to work shifts, overtime and standby.

- Fitting or Fitting and Turning Trade Certificate (Essential)
- Full N3 Mechanical Engineering
- Higher engineering qualification will be advantageous
- Matric Certificate
- At least 5 years' post apprenticeship experience
- At least 2 years' supervisory experience
- Experienced in the Manufacturing Industry
- Valid Code 08 (Code B) Driver's License
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Own transport.
