Shift Leader – Multi Skilled
Location: Mile End, London
Salary: £45,000 to £53,000 Per annum + Shift Allowance + Shift Leader Allowance
Hours: Continental Days & Nights
A fantastic opportunity to work for an established FM service provider situated in Mile End. The successful candidate will be electrically biased with extensive building maintenance experience and multi-skilled with mechanical expertise. The role involves working across a large institute and managing a team of engineers. In return, the company offers a competitive salary up to £53,000 plus allowances.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive maintenance are carried out to all client assets through operation of the Planned Preventative Maintenance System.
- Maintain accurate records related to Health & Safety, Building Compliance, and Quality Assurance.
- Manage sub-contractors to meet contract requirements, including approvals and safe operation during repairs or services.
- Promptly address plant faults and defects to keep equipment operational.
- Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
- Complete comprehensive maintenance records via job sheets.
- Prepare, review, and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safety.
- Manage the shift team effectively.
- Ensure tasks are completed properly, utilizing shift engineers appropriately.
- Conduct annual appraisals of shift engineers.
- Ensure the team is skilled and trained, with training plans in place.
- Work includes PPM, fault finding, AHU, FCU, HVAC, emergency lighting, reactive maintenance, and basic building services installation and maintenance (electrical, HVAC, plumbing).
Requirements
- Formal qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar recognized qualification.
- City & Guilds Level 2 & 3, plus 17th or 18th Edition.
- High Voltage Certification – Preferred.
- Proven experience in building maintenance.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of UPS, Generators, Power Distribution, HVAC, HV LV systems.
