Job summary

Clinix Health Group (Pty) Ltd seeks a SHERQ Manager to oversee safety, health, environment, risk and quality assurance across hospital operations in Gauteng. You will ensure compliance with SANC/DOH standards and manage infection control, PPE and incident investigations.

The role coordinates policy reviews, reports monthly progress, maintains accreditations, and develops the SHERQ roadmap. A strong nursing background, SA registration, BLS, and 3–5 years in similar settings are expected.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree/diploma with SANC registration
• Risk Management Certificate
• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Current BLS accreditation
• Knowledge of SA nursing scope of practice

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate the yearly SHERQ action plan and longer term SHERQ roadmap.
• Prepare monthly reports on progress and present feedback at Group forums.
• Coordinate with management and staff on policy review and implementation.
• Support Hospital Manager in the annual review of National Core Standards to ensure compliance.
• Initiate and coordinate training plans and DOH requirement updates with HR Business Partner.
• Assist in retaining current quality accreditations and pursue new accreditations.
• Compile SHERQ reports and incident investigations with recommendations and timelines.
• Ensure reporting and compliance with COID and related legislation.
• Formulate and maintain infection prevention guidelines and corrective actions.
• Maintain updated risk register and risk mitigation actions.
• Facilitate risk assessments (general, manual handling, radiation, fire).
• Monitor absenteeism and staff trends post-incident; address per policy.
• Ensure staff PPE is available for specific jobs.
• Conduct ward environmental, hygiene and patient safety checks.
