The ideal candidate should be hands-on, solution-oriented, and committed to creating a safe working environment for all employees. The role involves promoting SHEQ culture both at the plant and on construction sites.

Requirements
  • Minimum NQF Level 4 - 5 Grade 12+ / Higher certificate
  • Minimum 5 years’ operational and administration experience in a SHEQ environment
  • Valid SACPCMP License
  • Knowledge of OHSA
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Intermediate proficiency in SAP and other in-house systems
  • Excellent communication, administration, and presentation skills
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and policies
  • Be fully conversant with all construction site requirements and procedures
  • Prepare safety statistics for management
  • Perform safety inductions for employees and contractors
  • Attend on-site safety meetings
  • Create and maintain safety files
  • Ensure SHEQ compliance of contractors and monitor their activities
  • Conduct audits on contractors
  • Maintain legal registers and ensure accessibility
  • Log and submit RMA claims and report on claims
  • Contribute to the development of site operating procedures
  • Identify and control SHEQ hazards
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare monthly SHEQ reports and update LTIFR
  • Maintain SHEQ documentation, reports, and registers
  • Conduct site inspections and incident investigations
  • Implement and review risk assessments
  • Administer legal compliance audits
  • Ensure weekly safety talks are conducted
