Job description

RPO Recruitment's client is a prominent mining company in Mpumalanga, seeking a SHEQ Manager to join their team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and schedule safety project interventions and conduct ongoing needs analyses in safety methodologies.
  2. Identify and develop new safety-related projects by evaluating data to inform management and enhance safety performance.
  3. Monitor trends and identify leading indicators.
  4. Investigate industry best practices and implement applicable safety measures, including report compilation.
  5. Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and company policies to manage workplace safety risks.
  6. Facilitate peer reviews on fatal risk exposures and measure remedial actions to reduce serious incidents.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Safety Management
  • Blasting Certificate (underground and opencast) / Engineering Trade Certificate
  • 12 years of experience in underground and opencast mining environments
  • Minimum of 5 years at a Chief Safety Officer level
Benefits:
  • Salary negotiable between R1.5Mil and R1.7Mil per year
