Job description

Our client, a renowned manufacturer specializing in hygiene products, is currently seeking a SHEQ Manager to lead their multidisciplinary team in achieving business objectives for quality, health, safety, and environment in Kempton Park, Gauteng. This role is instrumental in ensuring compliance with SHEQ regulations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Safety and/or Environment or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in defining and managing SHEQ compliance systems.
  • Minimum 5 years in a management position within FMCG/Manufacturing/Packaging industries.
  • Working knowledge of relevant South African legislation, applicable SANS codes, ISO9000, ISO9001, ISO9004, 5S Programme, best practice guidelines, and corporate governance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage SHEQ risks and incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental authorizations and legislation.
  • Monitor SHEQ performance and enforce regulations.
  • Develop, review, and update SHEQ policies and procedures.
  • Provide SHEQ support and information.
  • Drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage SHEQ related training requirements and audits.
  • Review customer requirements and manage complaints.
  • Establish quality requirements with external suppliers.
  • Maintain controls and documented procedures.
  • Support the End-to-End Supply Chain functions to meet revenue and profit targets.
  • Develop and execute an effective SHEQ strategy.
  • Set standards and objectives for SHEQ.
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of the SHEQ Management System.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members.
  • Align performance objectives with strategic goals.
  • Strong leadership skills and business acumen.
  • Effective decision-making ability.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to meeting standards.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
