Job summary

Sarens Siba (Pty) Ltd seeks a proactive SHEQ Coordinator for a Wind Farm project in South Africa. You will implement, coordinate and monitor Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality activities across the site, ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements and applicable legislation.

Responsibilities include managing inspections, incidents, documentation and training, liaising with contractors and stakeholders, and promoting safety culture and continuous improvement throughout

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.
• SAMTRAC, COMSOC or equivalent SHEQ qualification.
• Minimum 3 years SHEQ experience in construction/renewable energy/heavy lifting/engineering
• Knowledge of the OHS Act and SHEQ legislation.
• Experience with inspections, audits, incident investigations and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily SHEQ activities across the project and support site management in achieving objectives.
• Monitor compliance with project SHEQ plans, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
• Verify permits, toolbox talks, inductions, training records, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits and safety observations; follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations, trend analysis and preventative measures.
• Maintain SHEQ documentation, registers, reports and project records.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, drills and SHEQ training.
• Liaise with project personnel, contractors and stakeholders to promote SHEQ awareness.
• Ensure all SHEQ documentation is accurately maintained and uploaded to systems.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• SAMTRAC, COMSOC, or equivalent SHEQ qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' SHEQ experience within construction, renewable energy, heavy lifting, engineering, logistics, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable SHEQ legislation.
• Experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Strong administrative, reporting, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Wind Farm or Renewable Energy project experience will be advantageous.
