Job summary

Sarens Siba (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join a Wind Farm Project team in South Africa. The successful candidate will lead and manage all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality activities on site, ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable legislation while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent SHEQ qualification.
• SACPCMP registration (CHSO/CHSM) will be advantageous.

• Lead the implementation and management of the project SHEQ Management System.
• Ensure compliance with legal, client, and company SHEQ requirements.
• Conduct and oversee site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and workplace safety initiatives.
• Manage incident investigations, corrective actions, and lessons learned processes.
• Monitor SHEQ performance and prepare reports for project management and stakeholders.
• Drive employee engagement and promote a culture of safety excellence.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and SHEQ training programmes.
• Manage SHEQ documentation, permits, and project compliance records.
• Liaise with project teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory authorities on SHEQ matters.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across safety, health, environmental, and quality performance.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent SHEQ qualification.
• SACPCMP registration (CHSO/CHSM) will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' SHEQ experience within construction, renewable energy, heavy lifting, crane operations, engineering, or industrial projects.
• Previous Wind Farm or Renewable Energy project experience will be highly advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant South African legislation.
• Strong incident investigation, auditing, and risk management experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital SHEQ reporting systems.
