SHELTER MANAGER - BELLVILLE

The Haven Night Shelter Organisation's method is to offer social work services, rehabilitation opportunities, family reunification services, physical care, and support to adult people living on the streets who are committed to reintegration.

The Haven Night Shelter is seeking a dynamic manager for our Bellville shelter.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Driver's licence
• An honest, healthy, sober person
• Good people skills and supervisory experience
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
• Intermediate computer skills and able to compile reports
• Experience in NGOs or a similar working environment (advantageous)

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage the day-to-day activities of The Haven Night Shelter – Bellville
2. Ensure efficient and effective management of shelter operations
3. Oversee staff accountability
4. Report to the Operations Manager and Shelter Committee at monthly meetings
5. Maintain sound controls for accurate recording of income and expenses
6. Realise the budget through fundraising, fee collection, and cost control
7. Account for goods in kind donations
8. Ensure clients receive necessary social work interventions aligned with the mission and vision
9. Support resource allocation for social workers and clients to facilitate family reunification or reintegration
10. Develop systems to ensure quality care for clients
11. Enhance food security and welfare services for surrounding communities
