Purpose of Job

To plan, synchronize, and sustain inspections, assessments, and take the right action to maintain safety and health in the working environment.

Key Accountabilities
  • Implement SHE strategy to achieve best-in-class safety performance and improve safety metrics.
  • Coordinate site safety activities and advise management on safety issues.
  • Analyze injury and incident patterns, propose preventative actions, and track activities.
  • Facilitate accident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and implement risk control measures.
  • Maintain SHE database, plan and conduct management reviews, and report to stakeholders.
  • Ensure activities comply with safety, health, and environmental standards, protecting worker health and safety.
  • Enforce compliance with standards within the mining environment.
  • Stay informed on laws and regulations affecting mining projects.
  • Drive SHE strategy towards zero harm and continuous improvement.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to support project objectives.
  • Enhance personal skills and knowledge, and develop personal performance plans.
  • Manage team performance and foster a collaborative, innovative team environment.
Formal Education
  • Grade 12
