Minimum Requirements
  1. Completed 2 years of Internship and 1 year of Community Service;
  2. Degree in Health Sciences (MBChB)/NQF level 8;
  3. Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Medical Practitioner;
  4. Post Community Services experience;
  5. 3 – 5 years’ experience working in a Primary Healthcare setting, community health centre, or district hospital;
  6. Knowledge of legislation, best practices, policies, and protocols on health;
  7. Proficiency in MS Office and good communication skills;
  8. Willing to work extended hours when required;
  9. Willing to work across sub-district facilities of the City of Johannesburg;
  10. Valid driver’s license.
Primary Function

Coordinate the provision and delivery of comprehensive Primary Health Care services using the DHS legal framework, aligned with the National Norms and Standards. Provide leadership and supervision in the facility in support of the Facility Manager. Manage training and research to develop and maintain professional and ethical standards in PHC facilities and training schools, especially concerning medical, pharmaceutical, and nursing standards. Plan and implement clinical and professional services, develop clinicians, and promote research within the City. Lead the transformation of PHC services through health promotion and community outreach programs in partnership with other community health initiatives.
