For our location in Johannesburg (Lanseria) we are looking for a

Service Technician Inhouse Repairs and Remote Service Desk (m / f / d)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first level technical assistance to clients
  • Prequalify a problem and escalate it to 2nd level support if necessary
  • Perform technical error analysis and corrective action via remote access or phone
  • Carry out installations and upgrades of software via remote access
  • Use augmented reality (AR) technology where applicable
  • Create service reports and record service assignments in the ticketing system
  • Provide remote assistance for onsite Service Technicians with device installation, commissioning, and technical queries
  • Provide technical support for Key Account clients as required
  • Provide onsite repairs, installations, offsite troubleshooting, and support
  • Provide preventative maintenance and repair of equipment (food processing, retail & industrial scales, weigh price labeling, and inspection systems as required)
  • Be responsible for the spare parts inventory in the service department
  • Proactively sell our service products and services

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associated degree or equivalent training as a Communications Technician or IT specialist in the fields of Electronics / Electrical Engineering
  • Experience as a Technical Customer Service Agent
  • Experience in repair and installation of PC-based devices or processor-controlled equipment, particularly weigh price labeling, inspection systems, and industrial scales
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems and network technology
  • Sound knowledge of electronics and basic knowledge of mechanics
  • Capable of reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and spare part breakdowns
  • Familiar with TCP / IP based connections and other system bus protocols
  • Confident appearance, ability to work under pressure, initiative, and organizational skills
  • Reliability and professional dealings with customers
  • Eager for continuous further training and education after comprehensive onboarding
  • Customer-focused and self-motivated
  • Good analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • NRCS verification officer / repairer (nice to have)
