Job summary

SOLEVO Group seeks an experienced service technician to operate, monitor, and analytically test the plant’s process and wastewater system. You will ensure parameters stay within specification, perform daily water quality analyses, and maintain housekeeping while complying with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

The candidate will join our technical team at Toyota SA, based in the Eastern Cape, needing 1–5 years’ relevant experience, a Matric and a BTech or Diploma in Chemical

• Matric or Grade 12.
• BTech degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Analytical Chemistry.
• 1–5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• Must be physically fit.
• Thorough, accurate and detail oriented.
• Strong relationship builder.
• Self-disciplined.

Responsibilities

• Foster relationships with key personnel within VWSA.
• Manage chemical stock daily and fill dosing tanks.
• Record daily water meter readings.
• Test daily water chemistry of effluent batches and cooling towers.
• Ensure sites comply with safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Track and complete Visual Workplace information.
• Perform daily treatment on sludge dams.
• Monitor and report potable water quality.
• Perform problem solving and repairs as required.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and talented service technician that will be responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, and analytical testing of the plant's process and wastewater system. The technician will ensure that all process parameters are within specification, conducts daily water quality analyses, maintains proper housekeeping, and ensures compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.

What do we expect from the candidate?

The candidate will be part of our technical team based at Toyota SA. Must be based in the Eastern Cape.

The Key Responsibilities

• Foster strong relationships with key personnel within VWSA.
• Manage chemical stock on a daily basis and filling of dosing tanks.
• Daily Water Meter readings and record these.
• Daily Water Chemistry Testing of Effluent Batches and Cooling Towers.
• Ensure all sites comply with Health, Safety and Quality requirements of Company.
• Track and complete Visual Workplace information as required.
• Perform daily treatment on Sludge Dams.
• Monitor and report on Potable water quality.
• Perform problem solving and repairs as required.

Must-Have

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• B - Tech degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Analytical Chemistry.
• 1 to 5 years' experience in a similar environment.
• Must be physically fit.
• Thorough, accurate and detail oriented.
• Strong relationship builder.
• Self-disciplined.
