Responsible for executing and supporting inspections, servicing, repairs, modernizations, and installations on cranes and related components and equipment. Ensures that all inspections, load testing, etc., comply with statutory and legal requirements.
Main Responsibilities :
- Perform inspection services, repairs, load testing, and fault finding according to service contracts or other requirements.
- Ensure cranes are thoroughly assessed following stipulated procedures and service standards.
- Identify non-compliance issues, isolate problems, and recommend actions to minimize downtime.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports using company templates, ensuring they are signed by customers and responsible persons.
- Identify faults and problems requiring repairs during inspections.
- Communicate compliance and non-compliance issues to stakeholders.
- Maintain inspection schedules and registers.
- Apply engineering skills effectively in inspecting lifting machinery.
- Comply with relevant OHS Acts, Mine Health and Safety Act, regulations, and safety policies to maintain a safe workplace.
- Adhere to safety procedures on both company and customer premises.
- Properly assess work areas and perform tasks in accordance with safety standards.
- Complete POWRA before starting any job to ensure safety.
- Conduct operations related to safe and efficient lifting machinery.
- Identify and access service activities according to workplace requirements.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Recommend maintenance or modifications to improve machinery and equipment.
- Communicate equipment issues or potential enhancements promptly to relevant personnel.
- Gather customer feedback on product design, operation, maintenance, warranty, performance, and safety.
- Assist colleagues in upskilling and share knowledge, including becoming Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI) and Lifting Tackle Inspector (LTI).
- Participate in training and forums to stay updated on legislative changes.
- Report hazards, incidents, and injuries per legislation and company procedures.
- Perform functions according to delegated authority.
- Maintain safety files as required for compliance and customer needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including reports, timesheets, and orders.

Qualifications :
- Trade certificate in Electrical or Millwright
- Lifting Machinery Inspector accreditation
- Valid driver’s license
Skills & Knowledge :
- Minimum 5 years work experience
- Understanding of Driven Machinery Regulation (DMR) 18
- Knowledge of ISO standards 9001, 18001, 24001, 45001
- Basic electrical theory knowledge
- Knowledge of lifting tackle and rigging
- Proficiency in using and caring for engineering measuring equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical data
- Skill in using hand tools and trade tools
- Ability to work at heights and in elevated areas
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
