Job description

SUMMARY :

Drive and deliver all service and technical aspects of the business.

POSITION INFO : Minimum requirements

  • Must have a Diesel / Auto Electric / Forklift Trade or related Trade Test Certificate.
  • Matric plus a 3-year related Tertiary qualification.
  • A Business or related field qualification will be an added advantage.
  • A material handling servicing background with experience at Senior Management level.

Duties

  1. Staff leadership, performance management, and relevant duties for the Service department.
  2. Delegate and direct service tasks; monitor the progress of all current and pending projects.
  3. Take ownership of customer issues and follow problems through to resolution.
  4. Develop service procedures, policies, and standards.
  5. Monitor dispatch of products/delivery against targets and take timely corrective action.
  6. Liaise with customers and sub-contractors as required and ensure effective customer feedback.
  7. Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions.
  8. Stay ahead of industry developments and apply best practices for areas of improvement.
  9. Coordinate development of departmental business plan and budget.
  10. Control resources and utilize assets to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets.
  11. Develop performance targets, monitor progress, and take corrective action when necessary.
  12. Review monthly costs, analyze variances, report findings, and implement corrective measures.
  13. Advise Management on new developments and opportunities; contribute to business strategies and policies.
  14. Complete and submit reports as required.
