Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize scientific knowledge and training to provide engineering and technical support to customers via on-site, telephone, and email regarding the use, operation, maintenance, and specifications of complex instruments.
  • Consult with factory specialists, sales, and service management on quality-related issues; recommend appropriate actions.
  • Analyze, investigate, interpret, and diagnose scientific instrumentation to determine if it is functioning properly; advise customers accordingly.
  • Evaluate malfunctioning instruments and prepare repair cost estimates.
  • Perform calibrations, preventive maintenance, and repairs of instruments according to SOPs.
  • Identify and forward sales opportunities to Business Unit Managers.
  • Conduct installation and basic training.
  • Maintain knowledge of company products and services to ensure accreditation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attend all necessary service training for relevant product lines.
  • Substitute for other Service Engineers within the country as needed.
  • Perform in-house repairs and maintenance of customer and demo instruments when required.
  • Manage all customer/service interactions via CRM.
  • Travel frequently, with up to 40% overnight travel within South Africa, East African, and Sub-Saharan African countries.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Ability to work with electronic schematics, test equipment, and tools for repairs.
  • At least three years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex analytical instruments and/or process instrumentation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & French.
  • Must reside in Ivory Coast.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
