Service Engineer

Company based in Kempton Park is looking for a Service Engineer ASAP.

POSITION INFO :

1. Matric (Grade 12 / N3)
2. Trade tested as Diesel Mechanic or Earthmoving Mechanic is essential or Mechanical / Engineer Degree
3. Minimum 4-5 Years Experience On Earthmoving Equipment.
4. Electric / Hydraulic faultfinding skills
5. Ability to identify potential hazards
6. Carry out service, troubleshooting and repairs as per OEM standards and requirements
7. To complete / oversee the repairs of any defect found
8. Complete complaint, cause and correction on service job card for sign off
9. Timely complete all relevant administrative requirements, including, but not limited to service job cards and technical data sheets.
10. Downloading of software (Sculi)
11. Work according to OEM standard repair times
12. Use and understand diagnostic equipment
13. Choose alternative ways of carrying out tasks (innovation)
14. Operate electrical and mechanical equipment pertaining to the job i.e. power tools
15. Ensure integrity of all related tools of trade
16. Work according to occupational health, safety and environment requirements
17. Supervision of employees where applicable, artisan assistant, apprentice
18. Co-ordination and collaboration of employees working on the same equipment
19. Helping where needed and carrying out any reasonable request
20. Needs to attend training courses, online and in Springs
21. Will work shifts which do not correspond to normal shift times
22. Required to work overtime at very short notice
23. Occasional travel away from home.
24. Provide training to customers about correct usage of equipment and maintenance
25. Compiling of parts list
26. Identifying of components
27. Prepare and submit time sheets
28. Driving, using, maintaining and taking care of field service vehicle
29. Completing of warranty and upgrade claims
30. Submitting warranty, SEU components with correct tagging and plugging
31. Collaborate closely with technical department to resolve technical issues
32. Provide training to apprentices on how to identify and resolve issues, repairs, maintaining, etc
33. Provide technical support to customers during normal time and after hours
