Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions - Mechanical Maintenance Technician

The Role

Provide technical support in mechanical maintenance.

Maintain and improve machines and equipment to ensure high levels of reliability, availability, cost efficiency, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Mechanical maintenance operations.
  2. Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective actions, support planning and preparation, monitor outcomes, and document results (including root causes, time, and improvements).
  3. Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  4. Achieve maintenance targets.
  5. Communicate operational status and deviations effectively.
  6. Maintain safety and housekeeping standards (5S).
  7. Engage in continuous improvement and personal development.
Profile Required
  • Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification / Equivalent Qualification.
  • Section 13 or 26D Trade Certificate, with proof of apprenticeship.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • English proficiency.
  • Relevant mining experience (minimum 5 years).
  • Experience in mechanised mining (minimum 5 years).
  • Experience in underground or surface mining environments.
  • Experience in maintaining earthmoving equipment in mining/construction settings.
