Job Summary
We are seeking a Service Charge Review Accountant to join our expanding finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in property accounting and financial auditing, particularly within the service charge environment. You will work closely with our London-based finance team and report directly to the Head of Service Charge Accounts.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the property sector and a deep understanding of service charge accounts and statutory financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review annual Leasehold and company accounts in line with ACCA and ICAEW guidelines
  • Liaise with internal accountants and external auditors to support and manage audit processes
  • Communicate daily with property managers to facilitate timely approval of Leasehold accounts
  • Ensure the prompt sign-off of annual accounts by external accountants
  • Oversee year-end journal entries and ensure accurate surplus/deficit charges to lessee accounts
  • Track and manage timely receipt of invoices from external auditors

Requirements

  • Degree-level education with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., SAICA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience managing a team
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of property accounting systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience in service charge or property accounting is essential

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 to 18:00
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: R25,000 – R27,000 per month (Depending on experience)

Applicants must be based in the Cape Town/Winelands area or nearby, with the ability to attend occasional in-person meetings in Stellenbosch. A stable internet connection is essential, particularly during periods of load shedding.
