Job summary

Pick n Pay in Cape Town is hiring for a store associate responsible for receiving, stocking and merchandising products, while ensuring accurate pricing and high standards of hygiene and safety. You will assist customers, process orders, and maintain product integrity on the floor and back areas.

Applicants should have a Grade 12 certificate and be able to communicate in English. Computer literacy is advantageous; a stable, reliable work approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or Matric with pass in English.
• Computer literacy is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Stack and store products in a safe, tidy manner.
• Merchandise products per standards and prices per labels.
• Check correct pricing on random weight/loose items.
• Monitor temperatures and maintain cold chain when needed.
• Prevent wastage, shrinkage and damages.
• Follow security procedures and operate/clean equipment.
• Assist customers, listen to requests, and provide service.
• Process orders according to procedures and standards.
• Promote products to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stack and store products in a safe and tidy manner


• Merchandise products according to laid down standards


• Correctly price random weight/loose selling items


• Check correct pricing e.g. labels


• Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages


• Check temperatures/maintain the cold chain (if applicable)


• Adhere to and maintain security procedures


• Operate and clean equipment according to laid down standards


• Approach and advise customers on the product, listen to customers’ requests, provide the required product or services and handle customers in a courteous and business-like manner
