Job summary

Curro Pretoria seeks a Sepedi FAL Teacher (Foundation Phase) for full-time duties starting January 2027 to deliver the Curro curriculum and support holistic learner development. A BEd or PGCE in foundation phase is required, with honours advantageous; minimum 2 years' foundation phase experience and CAPS knowledge are expected; Coding and Robotics teaching is essential. • Minimum 2 years' experience as a foundation phase teacher.

• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform teaching duties, including planning lessons using modern-day tools and processes, setting up workbooks and measuring academic improvement and achievement
• Review, implement, monitor and adjust the term plan as necessary, including creating customised plans to support the class pace and available lessons as well as making provision for revision and parent and learning meetings
• Manage the classroom, including classroom design and set-up for optimal performance, disciplinary rules and communication with learners and parents
• Manage assessments, including assessment reviews, the assessment roster, revision packs, moderation and interventions
• Plan and manage homework per grade, including revisions and managing reading levels and progress
• Plan and manage extramural activities and outings

Curro is seeking to appoint a primary school foundation phase teacher at Curro Pretoria in Pretoria. The role involves teaching and coordinating a range of subjects as per the Curro curriculum for the foundation phase. The teacher is responsible for the active teaching, knowledge transfer, skills development and growth of positive attitudes among learners through integrated and focused teaching approaches.
