Job summary

Hollywoodbets seeks an SEO Specialist based in Umhlanga, Durban to join the Purple Team. You will drive organic search and paid search initiatives, optimize content, and collaborate with development and marketing to boost visibility across Africa and the UK.

You should bring 2–3 years of SEO/technical experience, plus strong knowledge of analytics tools and bid management. The role requires hands-on execution and a proactive, data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven SEO experience required.
• Proven SEM experience managing PPC campaigns across Google, Yahoo and Bing.
• Strong knowledge of performance marketing and online customer acquisition.
• Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and SEMrush.
• Experience with bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite).
• Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments.
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript constraints.
• Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms.
• Up to date with latest SEO/SEM trends and best practices.
• Minimum 2–3 years in SEO and technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Execute tests, collect and analyze data to identify ROI opportunities in paid search.
• Track and analyze website analytics and PPC campaigns.
• Manage campaign expenses, budgeting and reconciliation.
• Optimize Google My Business and landing pages for SEM.
• Perform keyword discovery and optimization; implement SEO recommendations.
• Research competitors and link-building opportunities.
• Collaborate with development to apply SEO best practices on new code.
• Work with editorial/marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation.

You Bring

• Proven SEO experience

What You’ll Do For The Brand

• Execute tests, collect, and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
• Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns
• Manage campaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs, and reconciling discrepancies.
• Google My Business optimization
• Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
• Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization
• Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
• Research and analyze competitor advertising links
• Develop and implement link building strategy
• Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code
• Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
• Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
• Must be willing to also work within the various digital marketing functions (email, SMS, Affiliate marketing, web development, etc.). Willing to learn and broaden knowledge across the entire digital marketing scope
• Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, and identify and resolve problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• Ability to work within a team and independently
• Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
• Reviewing and analyzing client sites for areas that can be improved and optimized
• Research competitors and provide suggestions for improvement
• Regular audits, both large and small
• Identify the latest trends and technologies affecting our industry. Keep abreast with best practices
