Were expanding our team and seeking a Senior WordPress Developer with expertise in Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to elevate our development standards and mentor junior team members.

The Role

As our Senior WordPress Developer, you'll lead by example ensuring clean, scalable, and maintainable code while delivering pixel-perfect WordPress websites. You'll work closely with designers, junior developers, and our Head of Web to bring custom Figma designs to life, review code, and manage hosting environments. This is a remote role that requires significant overlap with US Eastern Time (EST) working hours.

What You'll Do

• Review, audit, and mentor junior developers code for performance, security, and quality.

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes using ACF, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Convert Figma designs into fully responsive, SEO-optimized WordPress builds.

• Manage hosting environments (WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudflare), deployments, DNS, and SSL.

• Optimize websites for speed, mobile responsiveness, and core web vitals.

• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues across environments.

• Document internal workflows and help refine development processes.

• Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders in weekly standups and planning sessions.

What Were Looking For

4+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
Proficiency with ACF, custom theme development, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience translating Figma designs into responsive, pixel-perfect websites.
Strong knowledge of hosting platforms (WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudflare) and server management basics.
Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.
Ability to overlap working hours with US Eastern Time Zone by at least 2 hours daily.
Strong portfolio of WordPress websites showcasing your work.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the home services sector (plumbing, HVAC, etc.)

• Familiarity with technical SEO best practices

• Previous mentoring or leadership experience in a development team
