Job summary

SA Metal Group is seeking a Qualified Welder for our Boilershop in Cape Town. The successful candidate will perform welding on structures, equipment and machinery, in both workshop and on-site settings.

Requirements include a valid welding trade test, 5–8 years’ experience in steel/industrial environments, and proficiency in MIG, TIG, Gas and SMAW welding. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid trade test certificate in Welding (no coding).
• Minimum 5–8 years of welding experience in steel or industrial env.
• Experience in pipe welding, copper, brazing and silver soldering.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, Gas and SMAW welding.
• Experience with power tools and strictly adheres to Safety rules.
• Ability to work under challenging conditions and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform general welding on structures, equipment and machinery.
• Repair components in workshop and on-site and maintain neat workspace.
• Collaborate with Boilermakers and ensure quality workmanship.
