Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is desirable.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling and water treatment design is essential.

Responsabilités

About the Role

Our client, a leading environmental and civil engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their remote-first team. This role will focus on the planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure projects, including water supply systems, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and flood control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resource management, with a proven ability to lead complex projects and teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of water resources projects, including dams, pipelines, treatment plants, and drainage systems.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water availability, flood risks, and water quality.
• Develop conceptual designs, detailed designs, and technical specifications for water infrastructure.
• Manage project execution, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
• Oversee environmental impact assessments related to water resources projects.
• Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international standards and best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior water resources engineers and technical staff.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Stay abreast of advancements in water resources engineering, technology, and policy.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering.
• Proven experience in hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET, InfoWorks), hydrological analysis, and water management planning.
• Experience with design of water and wastewater treatment processes, pipelines, and hydraulic structures.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations related to water resources.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote environment.
• Experience with projects in South Africa or similar regions is advantageous.
