The role:

To support the VOHE Superintendent (MHSA 12.1 Appointee) function in monitoring and reporting on legal and corporate compliance to relevant Health & Hygiene Regulations & Standards and achieve corporate goals for controlling and reducing occupational exposures, prevention of fires and explosions, preparedness for emergencies in line with our commitment to zero harm.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Health and hygiene management
• Safety management

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Math (Not Literacy) OR N3 Math and Science with a Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (MEC)
• 5 years’ experience in the Mining/Engineering field with a minimum of 2 years as a Colliery VOHE Officer/Occupational Hygiene Officer
• Valid driver’s license
• In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness

Advantageous:

• B Tech, B Sc, B Eng., National Diploma Mechanical/Engineering
