Position Overview:

The RSAWEB Cloud team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior VMware Engineer with a strong background in VMware and AWS.

The role requires a broad range of technical and non-technical skills, including cloud infrastructure expertise, security knowledge, automation skills, and collaboration abilities to develop innovative, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Linux and infrastructure deployment as code, with a proven track record of successful cloud-based solutions implementation.

Excellent communication skills are essential to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively to deliver high-quality cloud solutions.

The cloud computing landscape is constantly evolving; staying current with the latest technologies and trends is expected.

Key Objectives:

• Design and implement cloud-based solutions in VMware and AWS environments.
• Develop, test, and deploy infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies, leveraging Veeam and other leading solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful cloud solution deployment.
• Implement and maintain cloud security measures to protect data and applications.
• Automate cloud operations tasks, including provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
• Ensure security, scalability, and availability of cloud systems.
• Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements.
• Work on AWS cloud migration and deployment projects, delivering professional services and resource deployments.
• Develop and maintain security controls for encryption, identity management, and access control.
• Guide and support development teams on cloud best practices.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance and cost optimization.
• Participate in on-call incident response.
• Document cloud systems and processes for maintenance and scalability.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with VMware, NSX-V or NSX-T, and cloud migration, deployment, and management.
• At least 7 years of experience in cloud engineering, focusing on VMware.
• Understanding of networking concepts and cloud infrastructure configuration.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Veeam backup and recovery solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security, including encryption, identity management, and compliance.
• Extra credits for skills in deployment as code (Terraform, Ansible), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), and automation tools (Jenkins, Github Actions, Chef).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as VMware VCP or VCAP are required; AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or similar are a plus.
