Job description

SENIOR VETERINARY NURSE: OVAH THEATRE (POST LEVEL 9)

Responsibilities
  1. Preparing and assisting with surgical procedures involving small animals, large animals, and wildlife.
  2. Theatre management with emphasis on surgical procedures, instrument handling, theatre hygiene, equipment maintenance, stock control, and procurement (pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, prostheses, implants, cleaning, and biosecurity products).
  3. Providing patient care before, during, and after surgery.
  4. Assisting with informal training of students and student nurses.
  5. Participating in after-hours emergency services on a rotational basis.
  6. Performing relief duties in other sections of OVAH.
  7. Performing shift duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (DipCurAnim or Dip Vet Nursing), BVetNurse, or equivalent.
  2. Registered veterinary nurse with the South African Veterinary Council.
  3. At least two years' experience in veterinary nursing, including one year in theatre practice and clinic management.

Salary Details
