About the Role

We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and customer service driven Senior Underwriting Consultant to join our Customer Service Department in our Short-term Insurance Division at our Contact Centre in Centurion.

As a Senior Underwriting Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional performance and ensuring business objectives are met through effective and efficient customer service. Your expertise will inspire excellence in customer centricity and enhance productivity. The successful candidate will handle all administrative and underwriting functions on new and existing member profiles and provide accurate advice regarding risk and cover.

Job Outputs:

• Assess risks associated with new business and renewals, determining appropriate coverage and premiums.
• Liaise with insurers and members to offer competitive and profitable insurance policies.
• Analyse underwriting guidelines and standards, ensuring proper underwriting of policies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant insurance regulations and company policies.
• Provide efficient claims support and administration.
• Ensure advice is accurate and in line with FAIS legislation.
• Handle escalated queries and complaints.
• Adhere to risk and compliance requirements.
• Meet service level agreements.
• Retain policies and members.
• Upsell on existing business.

Qualifications:

• National Senior Certificate/Matric
• FAIS credits on NQF level 4 or a full FSCA aligned qualification as per legislation
• Regulatory exam (RE5)

Experience:

• Minimum 3-4 years' applicable Personal Lines Short-term Insurance Underwriting experience
• Minimum 12 months Contact Centre experience
