Job summary

GloJobs is seeking a Senior UN Resident Coordinator to lead the UN country team in Pretoria, South Africa, guiding operational activities for development and SDG delivery. The role requires a Master’s degree and extensive international leadership experience to coordinate government engagement, donors and civil society within the 2030 Agenda.

Qualifications

15+ years of substantive leadership experience at the international level.
Experience in development, human rights, peacebuilding or humanitarian work at country level.
Proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.

Responsibilities

Represent the UN at high-level state engagements and coordinate with government, civil society, bilateral and multilateral partners.
Lead the UN country team and coordinate operational activities for development and SDG implementation.
Develop, monitor and report on the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework in consultation with government.
Coordinate system-wide support to government, identifying risks and opportunities for SDG achievement.
Advocate for gender equality and human rights across all UN activities.
Foster strategic partnerships and knowledge sharing to improve system-wide results.
