Job summary

Absa Group seeks aSenior Treasury executive to lead ALM, liquidity, and funding strategies. This role oversees ZAR and USD positions, manages the HQLA portfolio, and guides senior management on balance sheet optimization. Collaboration with Finance, Risk, and Global Markets is essential to maintain resilient, compliant results.

The role requires extensive treasury experience, strong leadership, and stakeholder communication at executive levels within the group.

Qualifications

• Significant senior treasury experience in bank balance sheet management.
• Experience with ALM, liquidity, funding and capital management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Asset Liability Management & banking book interest rate risk.
• Manage ZAR and USD ALM budgets and performance.
• Steer liquidity positions within approved limits and optimise NII.
• Oversee IRRBB, repricing, basis and optionality risks.
• Provide guidance to ALCO on strategy and risk/reward trade-offs.
• Engage regulators and governance forums; interface with Finance, Risk and Global Markets.
